Connecting Island youth to their maritime heritage & building skills to last a lifetimeSail Martha’s Vineyard, headquartered at the historic Mayhew Schoolhouse on Main St. in Vineyard Haven, was established in 1992 to offer programs for Island children in elementary sailing, seamanship and wooden boat building and to attract historic vessels to the community. From modest beginnings, Sail MV has grown into an organization that has taught more than 3,000 children at the Sailing Camp Park in Oak Bluffs. It underwrites and teaches a Maritime Studies class at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School and sponsors a successful high school sailing team. It continues to offer an extensive range of other programs in maritime education, rowing and sailing for young and old, seasonal and year-round residents.
